As for Internet Explorer, Java support is known as Microsoft Virtual Machine (MSJVM). However, it is not installed by default. To check whether Java is installed in Internet Explorer, look for the library file "msjava.dll" under the directory "windows\system" on Win 9x and "winnt\system32" on Win NT/2000.

  • You can obtain the latest Microsoft Virtual Machine (MSJVM) here.

  • Or install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) here or here.

Java support is known as the Java Virtual Machine in Netscape, it is installed by default. To check whether Java is enabled in Netscape, look under the "Advanced" option under the "Edit-Preference" menu for the sub-option "Enable Java".
